Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick will require surgery; but is not ruled out just yet
Ryan Fitzpatrick is a pretty solid quarterback and this week he suffered a major injury to his non- throwing hand. The Harvard grad will need surgery, but may not undergo any procedures at the moment.
Bowles announced that starting quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick suffered ligament damage in his left hand and that he will be viewed as day-to-day as the team attempts to move forward from consecutive losses. Reserve quarterback Geno Smith also has a “big bruise” but no structural damage on on his left shoulder. Third-stringer Bryce Petty, a rookie, is the only roster option right now. Bowles noted that Petty will get repetitions in practice this week and that the team was considering all options heading into Tuesday’s trade deadline.
“We’re looking at everything right now,” Bowles said.
