Sawyer Kollmorgen

What is your Height/Weight? 

6’2, 210lbs

What is your position? 

QB

Where do you play college football? 

University of Northern Iowa

Football is about giving back, what is the coolest thing you have done off the field? 

Working with young QBs on throwing mechanics.

What was the hardest college class you ever had to take?

Financial Accounting.

Where are you from? 

Tulsa Oklahoma

Who is your role model, and why? 

My dad is my role model. My father taught and demonstrated the importance of hard work and how your character and your word is what defines you.

Did you play any other sports growing up? 

Growing up I played basketball and baseball. But football was my first love.

Did you play any other positions in football? 

I played linebacker all the way up till my sophomore year.

At your position, what separates you from others? 

My knowledge of the game and my ability to learn and adapt quickly.

When you are breaking down film, what do you look for?

I look for tendencies that the defense show with their coverage, blitzes, and fronts. I look to see what they do against certain formations and certain downs and distances.

Who was the toughest player you ever faced? 

I would have to say Kyle Emanuel of NDSU and now plays for the Chargers.

If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be and why? 

I would like to say Aaron Rodgers. I feel like when I out there I know everything and control the game.

I never get to high and never get to low during the course of a game.

What was the biggest obstacle in your life you had to overcome, and how did you overcome it? 

One of the biggest obstacles I had to overcome was as a child I had very bad Asthma. It was so bad that I almost had to stop playing sports all together. I overcame this by the support and love of my parents. They were always there for me with a inhaler on the sideline but always made me get back out there and play once I regained my breath.

My mom has always sent me a text or written me a note every game day with words of encouragement and a different bible verses. I would have to say this is and taking off my cross and kissing it before I go out on the field are my only rituals.

As a small school football player what obstacles do you feel you have to overcome?

I think that is the obstacle itself. Coming from a small school. But I think it is starting to show that some of the small school kids can play in the NFL.

What is your biggest strength? 

My knowledge and my ability to learn quickly.

What is your biggest weakness? 

I’m not the fastest guy in the world.

If I were a GM and gave you a second to sell yourself, what would you say?

Worth a chance.

Who was your favorite player and/or NFL team growing up? 

Growing up I loved to watch Brett Favre and the Packers.

If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive, who would you choose? 

Vince Lombardi, Bill Walsh, and Jesus Christ.

With your first NFL paycheck what would you buy?

Tough to say.
