Seahawks signed ILB Nick Moody to their practice squad, today. The 6-foot-1, 245-pound Moody was San Francisco’s sixth round pick out of Florida State in 2013. With the Seminoles, he played safety for two years before transitioning to linebacker ahead of his junior season.

In 20 games with the 49ers, including two starts in 2014, he racked up 25 total tackles.

The 25-year-old was in the mix to replace retired 49ers All-Pro Patrick Willis at inside linebacker this offseason, but was beaten out by veteran reserve Michael Wilhoite and free-agent signing Nick Bellore.

A 2013 sixth-round pick out of Florida State, Moody played 165 defensive snaps for the 49ers last season. Moody played free safety in college, and he could be groomed as a box safety in the mold of Kam Chancellor in Seattle.

@bcondotta: Seahawks officially signed LB Nick Moody today to the practice squad and released Brandon Dixon.
