Saints release defensive back Kenny Phillips
Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports reports that the Saints are releasing veteran S Kenny Phillips to make room for their new additions. 
Phillips was attempting a comeback after being out of football for two seasons because of injury.
Phillips, who last played in the NFL in 2012, made the original 53-man roster on Saturday. But the Saints had to clear space after being awarded two players they claimed on waivers on Sunday.
