Redskins name Colt McCoy the back-up quarterback over RG3

Colt McCoy is the second string quarterback over RG3

Colt McCoy is the second string quarterback over RG3

NFL Media’s Jeff Darlington reports that Colt McCoy will be listed as the Redskins’ No. 2 quarterback tomorrow behind starter Kirk Cousins.

This is a slap in the face to their former first round pick Robert Griffin III.  The Redskins are paying RG3 16 million to ride the bench.  That is a huge amount to a third string quarterback. The team might want to cut him at this point if they cannot find a suitor.

McCoy prepared for the backup job for the past two weeks while the team was game planning for the Miami Dolphins, per Darlington.
