Former Raiders cornerback has been signed to the Dolphins practice squad
The Miami Dolphins announced Wednesday that they’ve signed CB Jonathan Dowling to their practice squad and released QB McLeod Bethel-Thompson from the unit, per Adam Caplan.
Dowling, 23, was the Raiders seventh-round pick back in May of last year out of Western Kentucky. His rookie season was cut short after he was placed on season-ending injured reserve in December.
Dowling was selected by the Oakland Raiders in the 7th round of the 2014 NFL Draft. The pick used to draft him was acquired from the Seattle Seahawks in a trade for Terrelle Pryor. On August 29, 2015, he was released by the Raiders for reasons that had to do with “maturity” rather than his field play.
