Former Bears linebacker Lance Briggs has retired from the NFL

Lance Briggs was one of the best linebackers in the past decade and today he decided to hang up his cleats. The former Bears Mike linebacker decided that retirement was his best option.

@SportsCenter: Seven-time Pro Bowl linebacker Lance Briggs officially announces his retirement from the NFL.

Briggs did say he will not turn in his retirement papers until next week, and plans to join CSN Chicago in the fall. If an offer is not sent in soon, I doubt the vet will be back on the field.
