Today the Pittsburgh Steelers released tight end Michael Egnew to make room for cornerback Brandon Boykin, whom they traded for yesterday.
Egnew, 25, is a former third-round pick of the Dolphins who has yet to live up to his draft status. Prior to his arrival in Pittsburgh, Egnew spent two years in Miami, was claimed by the Lions in 2014 and cut a week after, to later land on the Jaguars practice squad.
Egnew has had a hard time sticking around on a roster, but he could be claimed tomorrow by teams. There are many tight end need teams.
