Saints have made tons of roster moves; Sign 4, Waive 4

Former Dolphins TE Michael Egnew has been signed by the Saints

Today the New Orleans Saints made a bunch of roster moves. The team released four players and signed four players. 

The most notable players released were Alex Smith the veteran tight end and defensive tackle Lawrence Virgil the former Valdosta State standout.  The team also waived Kyle Prater (WR), and Chris Highland (LS).

In corresponding moves the team signed LB Justin Anderson from ULL, LB Chris Young, DT Austin Brown and TE Michael Egnew.  Egnew was released by the Dolphins after being selected in the third round of the NFL draft by them.

  • Saints released TE Alex Smith.
  • Saints signed LB Justin Anderson, LB Chris Young, DT Austin Brown, and TE Michael Egnew.
  • Saints waived/injury DT Lawrence Virgil.
  • Saints waived WR Kyle Prater and LS Chris Highland.
