According to Harvin, as soon as the Seahawks traded for him and gave him a lucrative contract, Baldwin and Tate began whining.
“It was a constant thing,” Harvin told the Buffalo News. “It was something that got under my skin. I felt like they were acting like kids.”
Harvin, who is now with the Bills, says Baldwin and Tate didn’t want Harvin catching passes that otherwise would have gone to them.
Harvin says he hit Baldwin only after Baldwin repeatedly got in his face as Harvin tried to walk away from a dispute.
“Everybody calls him, ‘Tough Doug’ or ‘Angry Doug,’” Harvin said. “That was one of the times, he tried to use me to show he was a tough guy. I tried to walk away and he came back. It got messy. And I think what happened was the best for me.”
Golden Tate quickly responded to the Harvin statements:
@davebirkett: Golden Tate on Percy Harvin’s comments: I didn’t see that coming. It didn’t work out for him in Seattle, Minn or NY, wish him the best
