Patriots head coach says he is happy he does not have to play Brandin Cooks twice a year
Last night Brandin Cooks, the former Saints draft pick torched the New England Patriots. The Patriots defenders looked lost trying to cover the speedy wide out from Oregon State. Patriots head coach had major praise for the second year player saying he is glad he doesn’t play him twice a year.
“I’m glad we don’t have to play him twice a year, he’s not in our division,” Belichick said, via the New Orleans Times-Picayune. “He’s a really good player.”
Wide receiver Brandin Cooks caught four passes for 117 yards at the Superdome last night including a 45 yard touchdown bomb from Drew Brees. After the game, the Patriots head coach ran over to Cooks to shake his hand.
Cooks had 53 catches for 550 yards and three touchdowns as a rookie, but missed the final six games of the season with a broken thumb. He could be a fantasy football sleeper this year.
