Packers now seem interested in veteran WR Reggie Wayne
Dianna Marie Russini reports that the Packers are expected to reach out to free agent WR Reggie Wayne following the loss of WR Jordy Nelson to a knee injury. Russini adds that the Packers are still waiting for the MRI results from Nelson’s knee before considering alternative options.
Former Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Reggie Wayne was visiting with the New England Patriots and took a physical Sunday with the reigning Super Bowl champions, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The Green Bay Packers could be interested in contacting Wayne, pending the results of an MRI to Jordy Nelson, who is feared to have suffered a torn ACL during Sunday’s preseason game. Wayne surprisingly was in New England on Sunday to take a physical for the Patriots, so there’s a chance he could be off the market before the Packers get a chance to meet with him.
