Jets were planning to work-out several quarterbacks; But those work-outs were cancelled
There were numerous reports yesterday that the Jets were hurrying up trying to find a quarterback, but Chan Gailey and company must have had a talk with the Jets front office. The team was expected to work-out Tyler Thigpen and Rex Grossman, but they have since cancelled those work-outs. Instead the team will enter the season with Ryan Fitzpatrick, Bryce Petty and Jake Heaps.
Diana Marie Russini reports that the Jets “reached out” and planned to work out free agent QB’s Tyler Thigpen and Rex Grossman on Friday, but canceled both tryouts shortly afterwards.
One member of the Jets’ staff said that the team will enter the preseason opener “with the 3 arms that we have,” in Ryan Fitzpatrick, Bryce Petty, and Jake Heaps.
