To make room for Meriweather, the team waived kicker Chris Boswell.
Meriweather, 31, started 10 games for the Redskins last season and has started 68 games in his NFL career. Prior to his signing, safety Jeromy Miles was the only Giants safety who had ever started an NFL game, and he had only started three.
