Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul tells his coach he will be back soon
Defensive line coach Robert Nunn, exchanged text messages recently with defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul, and the news looked promising for the Giants. The defensive end, who was forced to amputate his right index finger following a horrific Fourth of July weekend fireworks incident, said “I’m going to get myself right, and I’ll be back.”
“We’ve talked more about where he is from a mental standpoint, texting back and forth and letting him know that we’re here for him and [that] whatever he needs, we’re here for him,” Nunn said, via Bart Hubbuch of theNew York Post. “His response is: ‘Coach I’m good. I’m going to get myself right and I’ll be back.’ That’s kind of where it stands. I don’t know any more than what you guys [in the media] know from that standpoint.”
This is great news for the Giants, who could really use Pierre-Paul. I have a feeling Pierre-Paul will still be a beast even with one less finger.
