Giants claim defensive tackle Jimmy Staten off waivers from Seahawks
The New York Giants claimed DT Jimmy Staten off of waivers from the Seahawks on Tuesday, according to the NFL transactions release.
Staten played at Middle Tennessee State University, and was released yesterday by the Hawks.
Staten, 24, is a former fifth-round pick of the Seahawks back in May of last year. He was unable to make the team’s 53-man roster, but was later added to the team’s practice squad.
Giants waived Carlif Taylor in a corresponding move.
