Before the NFL Draft, people wanted to write off the white running back Zach Zenner from their big board. Teams were calling him a fullback, others were saying he is not good enough and fast enough to play in the NFL. Well that is not the case.

Last night, Zenner rushed for 85 yards, on a night when none of his teammates could manage more than 13. This is not the first time that Zenner had a huge night. Zenner has two total touchdowns and 222 total yards in three preseason games.

The kid entered camp with all sorts of buzz after posting three straight 2,000-yard seasons at South Dakota State. He was invited to the East/West Shrine Game, and the big back has been dominating the NFL, the same way he did in college.

Zenner is facing big odds, since he is battling George Winn for a roster spot.  While Winn had a good year last year, many think Zenner could replace him. The Lions may elect to keep both players on the roster since Joique Bell has been banged up all preseason.

If the Lions do in fact keep all three, they could have one of the best running back cores that no one has ever heard of.
