Breaking: Dallas Cowboys sign DT Carlif Taylor
The Dallas Cowboys have signed former New York Giants defensive tackle Carlif Taylor.
Taylor, 6-foot-2, 319 pounds, was one of two players the Giants signed after tryouts at rookie minicamp. He was released a few days ago after racking up a sack in his first preseason game.
Two-time All-Northeast-10 Conference selection … Career totals included 172 tackles and 6.0 sacks … As a senior in 2014, he was a team captain, played in 11 games and was credited with 73 tackles (35 solo), including eight for losses and a half-sack … In his junior season, Taylor played in 10 games and had 54 tackles (31 solo), 10.5 tackles for losses and 3 sacks.
In a corresponding move the team released Cody Clay.
