UAB added its first new player Friday night since school president Ray Watts reinstated the football program on June 1. Memphis offensive lineman Tyler Jones is transferring to UAB, according to AL.com. He redshirted his first year at Memphis.

The 6-foot-5, 290-pound offensive lineman from Albertville High School picked Memphis over UAB and Troy in 2014.
