Randal Hill went from pro football to a Policeman to now running for Congress. Hill, 45, of Davie, is challenging Congresswoman Frederica Wilson, a veteran South Florida community leader and elected official, in next year’s Democratic primary for Congress.

The former wide receiver for the Miami Dolphins and Arizona Cardinals is presenting himself as someone whose experience gives him the skills to serve the residents of the Broward/Miami-Dade County district far better than Wilson, who is 72.

“I’m high speed and low drag,” Hill said.

“I can effect change. I have some great ideas that can help the district,” he said. “I love the odds. I love the challenge. I don’t like losing. Second place is the first loser so I never brag about it. I’ve done my due diligence properly assessing the landscape, and I would not jump into something if I did not know I was going to win.”

This is a pretty big step for Randal Hill. I wish him the best of luck, I remember meeting him as a little kid and he was a great person, so I’m rooting for him.
