Chris Cooley says he would consider a return to the NFL; Has talked to an OC about returning
Chris Cooley is 33 years old, but he is in the best shape of his life. The former Washington Redskins tight end was on the radio today and began talking about his recent run in with a offensive coordinator.
“If I went to camp, I could be anybody’s third tight end, worst case,” he said. “I have no doubt. Any team in the NFL, I could be their third tight end. There’s not a question in my mind.”
NFL assistant coaches who have run into him in recent months have seen what sort of shape he’s in, and asked why he isn’t still playing football. We will see if the radio host will return, but it will definitely not be with the Redskins. Cooley has played under current OCs Bill Lazor, Bills Musgrave and Kyle Shanahan, so I wonder what team it could be that has interest?
