It has been two complete seasons since Eric Weddle the San Diego Chargers safety has given up a touchdown.  That is pretty impressive considering it is the longest streak for a starter in the NFL according to Pro Football F0cus.

Weddle was expected to hold out because he wanted a contract extension but the Chargers failed to meet him in the middle. Now the Chargers if they are not prepared to throw huge money at him could lose him.

Stat of the Day: Eric Weddle hasn’t allowed a touchdown in his coverage since 2012. The longest streak for a starter in the NFL. (via @PFF).

Weddle is expected to become a free agent next season, and let’s face it he could become the best free agent available.
