Half a dozen teams start mandatory mini-camp today; Players can now be fined
Six NFL teams will begin mandatory mini-camps this week. Six of the teams have several players that are holding out. Alex Boone was holding out in San Francisco (He will be there), Mo Wilkerson in New York (He will be there), and Demaryius Thomas. Because Thomas was franchised he does not have to be in attendance, because he has not signed his tender. If a player does in fact skip the work out he can be punished. Here are the six teams that are starting today.
Arizona Cardinals
Denver Broncos
Indianapolis Colts
New York Jets
Oakland Raiders
San Francisco 49ers
Minicamps mark the first time this offseason that attendance is mandatory and players can be fined for skipping. Per the Collective Bargaining Agreement, players are subject to fines starting at $10,000 for the first missed day and can total up to $60,000 for missing the entire minicamp.
