Dolphins kicker injured his quadricep muscle; Remember the name Andrew Franks
According to Alex Marvez of FOX Sports, Miami Dolphins field goal kicker Caleb Sturgis suffered a quadriceps injury to his plant leg. The severity of the injury is being evaluated, at the time. While Dolphins fans may panic remember this, Sturgis has been a bum since entering the NFL.
He is less than 80 percent in 2 years as a field goal kicker. The team signed RPI kicker and D3 standout Andrew Franks. I have a feeling he will be the surprise kicker that makes a roster this year and starts.
Franks has a big boy leg and is way more accurate that Sturgis. The Dolphins might just want to cut Sturgis and let Franks do his thing. The Buccaneers did it with Patrick Murray last year and it turned out to be a very solid move.
