It sounds like Browns quarterback Josh McCown is scared of a QB competition with Johnny Football
Johnny Manziel was in rehab the entire off-season, and now he is back and everyone is taking notice of his attitude. He is trying to prove to the Browns he can play and compete for a starting position. That will not happen though, because Josh McCown has been named as the starting quarterback. McCown is a fan that he was named the starter, and almost sounds scared of competition.
“More than anything, for me, I just believe it takes away from any kind of distraction that you can have and the team can just move in one direction, regardless of who that guy is,” McCown told Cleveland.com. “It’s helpful to just say, ‘this is our guy until something happens and he’s not our guy.’ But I agree with that philosophy and that approach. It doesn’t take anything away from our group and it doesn’t take away from what Johnny and Thad [Lewis] and Connor [Shaw] are doing. We’re all working together.”
I personally would have never gave him the starting job. I would have made him earn it.
