Jameis Winston’s attorney says his client is not ready to be an NFL player off the field

jameis winston titansIt is bad when your attorney speaks out about you, that has to make you weary as a coaching staff.  Jameis Winston’s attorney, David Cornwell says Jameis is ready to be a player on the field in the NFL, but has some growing up to do off the field for an NFL player.

Cornwell spoke at the Villanova Sports Symposium on Friday and was asked about Winston.

“He’s ready to be an NFL player on the field. But he’s not ready to be an NFL player off the field,” Cornwell said, per BuzzFeed’s Joel D. Anderson.

This is a pretty sad situation, and while Cornwell does feel Jameis is the best player in the draft, it still looks bad.
