Dallas Cowboys have the most fire power to land Adrian Peterson

Adrian Peterson to the Cowboys has to happen….Right?

Let’s face it the Minnesota Vikings are not asking for little compensation, but they could definitely find a suitor.  Fox Sports said yesterday that the Vikings are looking for a first round pick and a starting cornerback in exchange for Adrian Peterson.

The problem is that most teams do not have a cornerback good enough to start that they are just willing to give up on. But the Dallas Cowboys do have several players who are very talented who they could let go.  If the Cowboys are truly interested they should have the most attractive offer.

The Cardinals are a team rumored to Peterson, but are they willing to let Patrick Peterson go? The Raiders do not even have a cornerback that is considered a starting cornerback, so you can cross them off the list.  Same with the Jaguars, so who are the Vikings going to land?

Well when you look at the Dallas Cowboys roster, they have several players that could be traded along with a first.  One that comes to mind is Morris Claiborne.  The Cowboys traded up for the former LSU product during the draft, and he has not panned out for the Boys.  The problem is he has tons of potential and coaches, especially defensive minded coaches feel they can make any player better.  That might be the case with Mike Zimmer, because Claiborne definitely can play at the next level and become a better corner than any Vikings corner on the roster now.  He just needs a confidence booster and likely a change of scenery.

Another player to keep in mind is Brandon Carr. Carr signed a lucrative deal, and the Cowboys would like to re-sign him at a much cheaper rate, but that might not happen.  So if the Vikings are interested in either Claiborne or Carr, I am sure the Cowboys would be interested to move them.  Carr has a huge salary, while Claiborne is much cheaper.  Claiborne is also in the final year of his contract, which means the Vikings could give him a long term deal, based on his performance.  While it is not good, he is younger and the contract would be way cheaper.

So at the end of the day, if you want to see Adrian Peterson in a Cowboys uniform, like pictured above, you better hope the Vikings like those cornerback options….
