An NFC East team wanted Browns Pro Bowl tackle Joe Thomas; Browns could have dealt him

Today Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer was asked if the Cleveland Browns would consider trading Offensive Tackle Joe Thomas by one of her followers, and she dropped a bombshell.

The Browns actually had an opportunity to trade Joe Thomas last year to an NFC East or NFC West team, a source told Northeast Ohio Media Group. But Thomas falls into the small category of virtually untouchable Browns. The Browns want Thomas, an eight-time Pro Bowler and future Hall of Famer to finish his career in Cleveland. Of course, everyone has a price, but it would take a ton to pry him away.

I wonder what team it could have been? The Cowboys are set at LT, the Redskins have Trent Williams and the Eagles have Jason Peters. This sounds like it could have been the Giants who are likely to draft a Left tackle with the 9th pick in the 2015 NFL Draft.
