Raiders have the second most cap money and can have a lot more with these cuts
There have already been reports surfacing that LaMarr Woodley will not be re-signed by the Raiders. That move will save the Raiders a pretty penny. Woodley would save the Raiders 5.187 million dollars according to Over the Cap.
Well that move is just a start, because if the Raiders also release Matt Schaub and Maurice Jones Drew they would save another 8 million. Schaub’s move would save 5.5 million dollars and Jones-Drew’s release would save 2.5 million.
That is a total of 13.187 million dollars, to add to the 52 million they have freed up already. That is a grand total of 65.187 million dollars in cap space, which is pretty nasty. The Raiders will be able to sign some pretty amazing players with 65 million dollars in cap room.
