Former Panthers DE Greg Hardy could be suspended for the first six games of the year

greg hardy suspended for 6 gamesPeter King of MMQB.com reports that teams around the league believe there’s a “good chance” free agent DE Greg Hardy will be suspended for the first six games of the season.

Greg Hardy certainly is repelling his share of suitors. As the GM of one team who told me Hardy “is on our list, but pretty far down,” there are two distinct problems with taking him on: a) Teams believe there’s a good chance Hardy will be suspended for the first six games of the season because of the domestic-violence incident that caused him to be placed on the commissioner’s exempt list last year; b) the public battering the team would take would potentially be intense and distracting. I think he’d fit best—without regard to off-field stuff—in Dallas or pass-rush-desperate Atlanta, Tampa Bay, San Diego or Jacksonville. Which team can best take the heat?

According to King, the best fits for Hardy would be: the Dallas Cowboys, Atlanta Falcons, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, San Diego Chargers, or Jacksonville Jaguars.
