Former 49ers Ray McDonald’s agent says several teams are showing interest
Today Tom Condon the agent of former San Francisco 49ers Ray McDonald, said multiple teams have inquired about his client in recent weeks.
“As you know, he’s a very good football player,” Condon said at Stanford’s pro day on Thursday, via Eric Branch of SFGate.com. “There certainly are teams that are inquiring about him.”
McDonald, 30, released McDonald back in December after rape allegations against him surfaced. No charges were every filed in that case, but the 49ers still elected to move on given that this was the first off-the-field incident.
“I would anticipate that they don’t find anything,” Condon said. “As Ray has said publicly, he’s got video evidence of consensual sex over a two-day period of time.
“I don’t have any doubt that he’ll be vindicated,” Condon said. “… But it’s still an influencing factor because of the sensitivity of the social issue. It’s unfortunate, but that’s the way it goes.”
