Could the Buccaneers skip on a QB with the first pick?

If you were the General Manager of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers would you want a quarterback with the first pick of the draft? I would, but Lovie Smith the head football coach of the Buccaneers said something today that could be a smokescreen, or the real deal.

“I just know I can see why people would assume that we are going to take a quarterback,” Smith told NFL Media’s Steve Wyche in an interview that will air on NFL Network on Monday. “There are two excellent quarterbacks that are available at the top. And when you get a chance to draft someone like that most of the time people do. But there are other good players in the draft also. I think it’s a deep draft.”

“We have a good quarterback we feel like, Mike Glennon, on our roster right now,” Smith said. “We realize that there are two excellent quarterbacks out there. We’re kind of going through the process right now. We’re trying to improve our ball club.”

What do you think happens? Is Jameis a lock to the Bucs?
