Alex Okafor, a linebacker for the Arizona Cardinals was charged with evading arrest, police said. He also had a warrant out for his arrest on a previous Class C misdemeanor charge, but police did not immediately know the nature of that offense.
According to the Austin Police Department, Alexander Okafor, 24, was arrested just before bar closing time early Monday morning. Police said they were originally called the area of Trinity and East 6th Street for a disturbance. When officers arrived, they said Okafor ran away from the them. He is charged with evading on foot and as well as a previous Class C misdemeanor warrant.
