Buccaneers are hoping some good players get released and have to clear waivers

When a team releases a player they could become a future Tampa Bay Buccaneer.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will have the No. 1 waiver claim position until after Week 3 of the regular season. 

At that point in time, the waiver order will be determined by won-loss record.

“It’s a huge deal,” GM Jason Licht said. “Bigger than people realize.”

It is a big deal, could Licht just start signing players and trading them? No, GM has ever made power moves, but it makes sense.
