Broncos should call Peyton’s friend Reggie Wayne to replace Wes Welker
Reggie Wayne had some of his biggest seasons ever as an Indianapolis Colt under Peyton Manning. Manning is now on a CONTENDER, in the Broncos, while Reggie Wayne has no team.
According to Pro Football Talk, receiver Reggie Wayne will listen if a contender calls, which makes you wonder if Peyton Manning will say something to John Elway and the staff to bring in the veteran Reggie Wayne.
Wayne was held to only two touchdowns last year, but put up 779 yards, or 51.9 yards a game. That is good first down yardage, and way better than what Wes Welker did. Welker reeled 2 touchdowns and gained only 449 yards. Wayne is a way better pass catcher, and still probably in better shape than Welker.
Peyton has a great working relationship with Reggie Wayne, and this move makes sense. I could see it happening, if Denver calls.
