Aaron Leming first reported that the Bears were closing in on a five-year deal worth $40 million with OLB Pernell McPhee.

Report: #Bears are closing in on 5 year deal with OLB Pernell McPhee. Deal is expected to be worth just under $40M total.
Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post has confirmed the report as well, and adds that McPhee will receive $16 million as part of this agreement. Wilson adds that the Redskins were among several other teams interested in McPhee.
