49ers will not only lose Patrick Willis; Justin Smith is expected to retire as well

justin smithThis morning the 49ers found out that their middle linebacker Patrick Willis is expecting to retire according to Rand Getlin of Yahoo Sports.  Well now the 49ers are finding out more bad news.  They will lose Justin Smith as well to retirement.

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reports that the 49ers DL Justin Smith is also expected to announce his retirement from the NFL.

By the way, it’s not Justin Smith retiring. That wouldn’t be a surprise.

There has been talk that Smith could walk away from the NFL and reports mentioned that he met with new HC Jim Tomsula last week.
