The Carolina Panthers have opened up contract talks with Cam Newton, although the franchise quarterback might not be in a rush to re-sign, according to the Charlotte Observer.

Newton’s representatives were scheduled to meet with the Panthers on Saturday at the NFL scouting combine.
Newton may wait to see what Russell Wilson and Andrew Luck get offers before signing a deal, but if I am Cam I try to get locked up long term.
