Panic Bills fans; Josh McCown left Cleveland without signing a contract

mccownBuffalo Bills fans can panic, and they should because Josh McCown has left Cleveland after spending two days on a free agent visit.  Buffalo was McCown’s first visit after getting released, and their is a report from Jason LaCanfora of CBS Sports that says McCown is down to Buffalo and Cleveland.

He is supposed to make his decision soon, and if it is down to Buffalo and Cleveland, Bills fans might be stuck with him.

Veteran free-agent quarterback Josh McCown wrapped up his visit with the Browns on Wednesday without signing a contract.

McCown received a head start because the Tampa Bay Buccaneers released him on Feb. 11 after he threw 11 touchdown passes and 14 interceptions en route to a 1-10 record as a starter last season. He is free to sign with any team at anytime.

McCown, who visited with the Browns on Tuesday and Wednesday, has also met with the Buffalo Bills, Chicago Bears and New York Jets. He could serve as a mentor while backing up a younger quarterback or start if needed. He has said he’s open to a backup role.

McCown, 35, expects to make a decision by the end of this week and no later than early next week, CBS Sports reported Wednesday.
