Jason Pierre Paul voids final year of his contract; Elects to become a Free Agent
According to R.J. White of CBSSports.com, Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul elected to void the final year of his 2015 contract.
The move enables the pass rusher to enter free agency and pursue a new deal with the Giants or any other NFL team.
White writes:
‘Absent a franchise or transition tag, Pierre-Paul will hit the market when the 2015 league year opens March 10. He racked up 12 1/2 sacks along with 54 tackles in 2014, his best season since breaking out in 2011. The Giants will be hit with a $1.35 million cap charge as a result of the defensive end’s prorated bonus.’
