If the Packers lose Randall Cobb could they replace him with Percy Harvin?
The Green Bay Packers would love to have Randall Cobb back, but they have a system in place and that system does not like to pay wide receivers tons of money. The team could slap Cobb with a Franchise tag, but they would have to pay him 12.9 million dollars. That is a lot of money for a number 2 receiver. The Packers could go the free agency route and one player that comes to mind is Percy Harvin.
According to Pro Football Talk, if Harvin is not willing to take a pay cut, he could be released or traded. I doubt anyone will trade for him with his cap figure which would make him a prime candidate for release. If he is released, then the Packers could make a play. According to PFT, Harvin could just want a chance to play with a solid quarterback and win a Championship.
If the Jets and Harvin can’t reach a deal, watch these three teams closely: the Chargers, Packers, and Patriots. With any of those, Harvin could do a one-year deal, partner with one of the best quarterbacks in the game, have a huge year, chase a championship, and set himself up for a bigger contract in 2016.
Harvin might be willing to take less money to play with an above average quarterback. I know I would….
