My name is Jaime Martinez

What is your Height/Weight?

I am 6’3 330

What is your position?

Offensive line

Where do you play college football?

I played at Sacred Heart University

How many teams were recruiting you out of high school?

I had Sacred Heart , Albany, Stony Brook, and Syracuse

How did you choose your school?

I chose sacred heart because I felt most at home and I had a friend I played with in high school playing here as well, also they were the only ones to offer me

Where are you from?

I’m from Brooklyn ,NY

Who is your role model, and why?

My father is my role model because he does so much for my family and is a great man. He has worked hard all his life and has really shown me how to be a man

Have any scouts met with you yet, and if so what are they saying?

From what my coaches tell me all 32 teams came to either a practice or game and asked about me but I never got to talk with any of them. But they have told my coaches that they like my playing ability.

jaime1Did you play any other sports growing up?

I’ve always been a active kids so I played basketball and baseball in the park and I also played roller hockey for about 3 years and my senior year in high school I played volleyball

Did you play any other positions in football?

in high school I played DE, OT, and Punter

At your position, what separates you from others?

My determination to do my job on every play.

When you are breaking down film, what do you look for?

I look for how the man across from me plays against the run and pass, whether he’s a penetrator or tries to keep his gap, also I try to look for anything that gives away their hand whether it be hand placement, body lean, alignment anything that would help in identifying what their going to do.

Who was the toughest player you ever faced?

I think the toughest player I’ve faced would be a tie with Saulsberry from Delaware and Covitz from Bryant both were really good

If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be and why?

I would compare my self to Manny Ramirez of the Broncos because of his play style and ability to do his job.

What was the biggest obstacle in your life you had to overcome, and how did you overcome it?

First time I ever played football was my sophomore year in high school, I played JV and we went 0-10 so after that season I was really indecisive on whether or not I wanted to keep playing but I stuck with it thanks to my friends and family and it has been the best decision.

Do you have any pre-game rituals?

I usually go out to the field take my steps, pass sets, while listening to Spanish music.

What is your biggest strength?

I feel like my biggest strength is my smarts on the field, my ability to make blocks down the field, and ability to just perform. 

What is your biggest weakness?

I would have to say my biggest weakness would be at times pad level and initial steps.

If I were a GM and gave you a second to sell yourself, what would you say?

If you give me the opportunity I know I can compete, I have the determination to do my job and will work everyday at it.

Who was your favorite player and NFL team growing up?

I didn’t really have a favorite player growing up. I didn’t start watching football games a lot until high school when I started playing but my team has always been the Jets.

If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive, who would you choose?

Mark Cuban, Grandmother , and George Carlin
