Clemson LB Vic Beasley should be a top 15 pick

Vic Beasley, a 6-3/246-pound defensive end from Clemson had quite a day today. Beasley had the highest vertical leap of the day among defensive linemen at 41 inches, as well as the best broad jump (10-10).

Beasley’s 4.53 40-yard dash time was also stellar. That’s as fast as Jadeveon Clowney a year ago, and faster than quarterbacks Colin Kaepernick and Cam Newton during their respective Combine sprints.

His 10-yard burst of 1.59 was also solid; only Eli Harold’s 1.56 was better. Beasley recorded 35 reps on the bench press. That was matched by only one other player, 321-pound defensive end named Deon Simon from Northwestern State.

He should be a top 15 pick.
