Carolina Panthers cut ties with Left Tackle Byron Bell as well as DeAngelo Williams
Free agent LT Byron Bell announced on his Instagram that he will not be back with the Panthers in 2015.
The caption reads, “It’s been real in Carolina now time to see where the Lord takes me next.”
The fact Carolina wouldn’t even consider Bell for a backup role shows just how poorly he played in 2014. Look for the Panthers to add a tackle early on draft day. The team was not done there, they also told DeAngelo Williams he would be getting cut, according to Pro Football Talk.
“We sat down and he told me ‘The fact of the matter is we’re going to have to release you‘,” Williams said. “I said you know, ‘Why?’ and he said, ‘because we don’t run the ball enough. Just like you said back before the season started, we don’t run the ball enough to keep you and both [Jonathan Stewart], so we’re going to release you’.”
