Carolina Panthers offensive lineman Brian Folkerts and wide receiver Brenton Bersin will cut their signature long hair to make donations to Wigs for Kids, an organization that provides Hair Replacement Systems and support for children who have lost their hair due to chemotherapy, radiation therapy, Alopecia, Trichotillomania, burns and other medical issues at no cost to children or their families.
Wesley Thornburg and Jeramiah Karriker, oncology patients at Carolinas HealthCare System’s Levine Children’s Hospital, will be present to cut the pony tails of Folkerts and Bersin.
“I’m grateful that I have this long hair that I can provide to kids who have lost their hair due to unfortunate illnesses or situations,” stated Brian Folkerts, OL, Panthers. “This has been four years in the making and tomorrow I will go from Caveman to … well, let’s see!” he says with a smile.
