Bengals will not bid against themselves for their free agents; Likely let them hit the market
March 10th is right around the corner and the Cincinnati Bengals have four players that are up for free agency that the team would love to resign. Well Bengal fans, don’t hold your breath. According to their team website the team does not want to bid against themselves. The team would love to keep Clint Boling and others but they will wait until the other teams set the market.
That’s when free agency starts and although the Bengals would like to re-sign some of their own (left guard Clint Boling, middle linebacker Rey Maualuga, and kicker Mike Nugent) don’t look for a deal before then. No one likes to bid against themselves, player or team. With Gresham rated as high as the fourth best tight end available, that doesn’t look like a number that’s going to fit.If they can’t sign Boling, the options probably start in the draft, where there are guys that can play both guard and tackle.
