Mike Holmgren turned down coaching the Raiders; Only interested in 49ers
When you have led teams to the Super Bowl, you can determine where you want to coach. Mike Holmgren was very interested in one job, but only one job open in the NFL. That job was the 49ers coaching job. When asked if he was done with coaching, Holmgren made it simple and said Yes.
“That’s it,” the former Packers and Seahawks legend said Monday after telling Seattle’s KJR-AM that the San Francisco 49ers were “not interested” in hiring him to replace the departed Jim Harbaugh, per the Bay Area News Group.
Holmgren said he was offered other NFL jobs last week, Holmgren acknowledged that only the Niners gig interested him. He reportedly turned down the Oakland Raiders, per Vic Tafur of the San Francisco Chronicle.
