Dolphins could have had Russell Wilson, but Jeff Ireland didn’t agree
Bret Bielema was interviewed for the Miami Dolphins coaching job when the team decided to draft Ryan Tannehill. Well word broke today that Bret Bielma the former Wisconsin coach and coach of Russell Wilson was going to be the Phins coach, but was told that Wilson in the second round was not a good pick.
Bielema said he told General Manager Jeff Ireland and others that he thought the Dolphins should draft Wilson in the second round, but the team disagreed with his take.
“They all looked at me like, ‘You can’t say that,’” Bielema said, via ESPN.com. “That’s the difference between college and pro. He’s undersized. He can’t throw.’ I was like, ‘OK, all right,’ and I honestly, that day, kind of pulled myself out of it.”
Pretty interesting, imagine if Seattle didn’t have Wilson? Would Matt Flynn took them to the Super Bowl?
