West Virginia QB Clint Trickett will retire from football

Today Clint Trickett from West Virginia told the media he will hang up his cleats after suffering major concussions. He has been hiding concussions from the team trainers.

@AllanTaylorWVU: Trickett just told us he had 5 concussions in 14 months, hiding 2 from trainers. Will retire from football and begin coaching.

@AllanTaylorWVU: Trickett made numerous trips to UPMC but couldn’t pass protocols. “In the career I’m entering I probably need a few brain cells.”

@AllanTaylorWVU: Trickett on hiding concussions: “In fairness to our trainers, that’s on me.” Says they would’ve held him out had they seen any indicators.
