Vikings will lose Anthony Barr for the remainder of season; Barr needed surgery
Minnesota Vikings won a game earlier this year when Anthony Barr stripped a ball carrier and returned it for a touchdown. Well for the final two weeks of the season, the Vikings will miss their rookie first round pick. Vikings coach Mike Zimmer told reporters Friday that the outside linebacker will undergo “very minor” knee surgery that will end his campaign after 12 encouraging starts. Barr hasn’t played since Week 13 with what Zimmer labeled a “slight meniscus tear.”
“He played great,” Zimmer said. “He’s a good football player. Good kid. Studies hard. Does everything right. He’s very conscientious. Hard-working. He’s already excited about getting back.”
Barr is going to be a very good player in the NFL for Mike Zimmer and company. I would not be surprised to see him shine in the years to come.
